At AfroLamps, we take pride in the craftsmanship and authenticity of our handmade lighting products. To ensure our customers receive the highest quality, we offer the following limited warranty on all AfroLamps products:


1. Warranty Coverage

AfroLamps warrants that all products sold through our website are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use for a period of:

  • 6 months (0.5 year) from the date of purchase.

This warranty applies to:

  • Lamp base (structural integrity and wood finish)
  • Shade (fabric stitching and mounting integrity)
  • Lamp holder (E27 or E14 electrical socket, as applicable)
  • Wiring (internal cord and switch assembly)

2. What is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear (fading, surface scratches, aging)
  • Improper use, handling, or installation
  • Damage due to:
    • Water/moisture exposure
    • Excessive heat or sunlight
    • Use of incompatible bulbs or plugs
  • Modifications or repairs not performed by AfroLamps
  • Damage from accidents, misuse, or negligence
  • Custom-made products unless faulty upon arrival

3. Proof of Purchase

To qualify for warranty service, you must provide:

  • Original receipt or proof of purchase
  • Product photographs showing the issue
  • Description of how the product has been used and stored

4. Warranty Claims Process

To initiate a claim:

  1. Email support@afrolamps.co.za with:
    • Subject: Warranty Claim – [Your Order Number]
    • Attach photos of the damage/issue
    • Include a brief description of the issue
  2. Our team will respond within 5 business days with further instructions.

5. Resolution

If your claim is approved, AfroLamps will:

  • Repair the product (if feasible), or
  • Replace the defective part/product at no cost, or
  • Offer a store credit or partial refund if replacement is not possible.

The chosen resolution is at the sole discretion of AfroLamps.


6. Shipping for Warranty Claims

  • AfroLamps will cover shipping costs for approved warranty replacements or repairs.
  • If the claim is not approved, the customer may be responsible for return shipping costs.

7. Disclaimer

This warranty is:

  • Non-transferable and only valid for the original purchaser
  • Valid only for products purchased directly from AfroLamps or authorized retailers
  • Subject to South African consumer protection law
